Beia (Romania), SIEMENS partner, is an R&D performing SME, founded in 1991, and one of the leading providers of ICT solutions and services in Romania for cloud communications and IoT telemetry. The company’s references include over 5,000 turn-key projects for advanced IT and communications solutions. BEIA is certified ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and 27001.

BEIA is active in multiple domains, and has commercial projects related to telemetry and communication systems with partners from local/central administration (Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Water and Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture), agriculture (BAYER, AVINCIS, etc), industry (Alro Slatina, Alum Tulcea) and also installed and manage the monitoring network (21 measurement points) of Danube and its tributary rivers (water level and temperature) for the Romanian National Water Administration.

Elkon Elektrik San. Tic. A.S – Turkey

Elkon (Turkey) was established in 1980 to design, manufacture, integrate and commission low-voltage electrical equipment and automation systems for the maritime industry. Elkon is an international and global brand and has an engineering and production center in Turkey, but the operation area is the whole of Europe. Closely following the trends in developed countries, Elkon considers the concept of decarbonization, which means emission reduction and the greenhouse effect, as the company’s vision. Carbon type starting electrification technology, which is one of the methods used to avoid fuel applications as innovative Elkon, added produced in Turkey gave a valuable
contribution to the project each ship. The company has the status of an R&D centre given by the government authorities in Turkey and scrutinized against innovative performance, infrastructure and staffing dedicated to R&D.

OBSS Teknoloji A.S. – Turkey

OBSS (Turkey) has the principle of responding to the challenging tasks and project needs in the best way by evaluating the requirements and the existing technological infrastructure. OBSS develop solutions by deciding the most appropriate system design and tools for customer needs with its expertise in various fields such as microservice architecture, cloud computing technologies, machine learning and MarTERA ADRIATIC – ID: 113 36 of 41 big data.

In addition, OBSS offer support to corporate companies about DevOps cultural transformation.

Norwegian University of Science and Technology Computer Science – Norway

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is the primary Norwegian university in engineering and technology. NTNU is, however, a full range university, and the biggest one in Norway. Around 380 PhD-degrees are awarded yearly, within the fields of technology, science, arts and humanities, social sciences and medicine. From 1st January 2016, NTNU merged with three regional university colleges, and became Norway’s largest university with about 38 000 students and more than 100 laboratories. NTNU has a broad range of contacts with industry. The annual budget of NTNU is around € 750 million, 25% of which is externally funded.

Total R&D expenditures amounts to approx. € 200 million. NTNU is an active participant in the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon2020, with more than 125 projects.

uSEA Corporate – Norway

uSEA (Norway) works to step-change autonomy for marine and underwater robotics to offer seabed surveys and mapping, pipeline and subsea cable inspection as well as environmental monitoring. It is an innovative subsea service start-up founded in 2017 with strong growth ambition. The main services offered by uSEA are seabed survey, subsea inspection and light intervention. uSEA’s differential is their unique concept based on latest generation marine and underwater robotics, which enables survey and inspection at high speed, high resolution,
improved HSE and at costs that cannot be beaten by other technologies.
